THE LOST DAYS... Round 2.
It's all darkness.
The feeling of nothingness, of being nothing. Of not existing. You have no thoughts, you will never have any thoughts again. While that fact is not comforting, because you cannot be comforted anymore, it is true.
There's a certain rest to being... nothing. And to both knowing and not knowing, that your time is done.
So it's all the more unfortunate when you feel, because you shouldn't feel. And the feeling is burning in your lungs, which you shouldn't have. Because you are- or were- nothing.
And then, you inhale a desperate gasp of air and open your eyes...

Re: death
"Well, it's really quite simple. This is a joke."
He giggles as he holds up a bloody crowbar, and she feels suddenly, like she's rooted to the spot, her hands unable to move.
"Would you like to be the punchline?"
Re: death
she can't move, even though she has her staff attached to her belt-- ]
No. Get away from me.
Re: death
And it happens so quickly-- she sees another figure. A kid. But he looks-- beaten within an inch of his life. Like all of the blood on that crowbar might actually be his, given how mangled his hands and face are.
"Get up!"
He knocks the other man away from her, and he laughs. But she will find that she can get up.
But the way she came is blocked by flowers.
Her only escape is to jump.
"Get out of here, he'll kill you! ... Again!"
Re: death
Scared or not, she can't just leave someone behind, clearly to suffer and die. ]
I'm not running! We'll take him down and then we'll both get out of here!
[ If there's something here to stop, or get rid of, it has to be this man. ]
Re: death
and then the Joker slams the crowbar into his head again.
And suddenly, Arya's vision is filled with the sight of an old warehouse. She is trapped, her arms tied behind her back as she savages her hands just to escape-- as the crowbar slams into her head, over and over again as the joker laughs.
"Does this hurt more, son? Or maybe this one?"
Weakly, brokenly, she hears herself laugh, putting on a brave face to the end, even though she terrified and in pain and abandoned.
"Yuk it up, clown. B-Batman's gonna be here--"
And then her vision goes white, as she is actually hit with the crowbar.
Take two harm.
no subject
The memory takes her by surprise, almost more than the crowbar. As soon as it connects she hits the ground, knocked senseless, head pounding. She tries to force herself up, but she can't seem to get her bearings enough to do it, collapsing right back down.
The only thought that makes any sense anymore is Sabre. She wants Sabre, needs her here. If Sabre was here, this would be fine, everything wouldn't hurt so bad-- ]
