...thanks. [ she sits up and takes the water, drinking it slowly, which is very different from how she's been drinking everything else. ]

[he's gonna sit down next to her.]

Offer's open if you wanna talk. But it's not gonna get you out of drinking the water.

...yeah. It's part of the reason I've been drinking so much. [ shrugs. ] Doing by best not to think about what a fun fucken ride it's been. [ emphasis on ride. ]

[ she laughs. ] Don't worry. I'm going to finish this. [ she holds it up and then takes another sip. ]

[ leans into him. ] So tell me about you and Grif.

That's fair enough. I'm not gonna pry-- shit sucks. Just don't cope yourself into needing a new liver.

[a pause and a conflicted look and--]

As for that... Definitely whatever we had is over.

I'll, ah, ...try. [ she thinks she might be well passed that point, but she's not going to say anything. it's kind of hard to tell with heroes never die. she's felt like shit for a while, but she's also been ignoring all of those feelings, because #yolo. ]

I... sorry. [ she frowns, not having expected to hear something that bad. ] You sure though? I mean, last time I spent time with him he seemed, like, real happy about whatever you guys had. You know every [ she rolls her wrist, because what the hell are they even calling it. ] thing hits a few bumps in the road.

I almost got someone I'm head over heals for run over by a train. Twice.

Oh, yeah. It's definitely over.

[while she needs to drink the water, he will definitely hold out his hand for that everclear.]

Bumps in the road happen. It's not that big of a deal.

[she doesn't need to see him being a self-destructive mess when she's trying to deal with her own impulses.]

[ she passes it over to him. ]

[ she takes another sip of the water, looking from it to the bottle she just passed to him. no. be a good girl, d.va, no more liquor. ]

Yeah. I was upset about something, so I took off. They joined me and we raced to the train station, go on the tracks and continued to race. I took it a bit too far and knocked us both off our bikes. Train came and we almost got smushed once. Then the other train came and we almost got smushed again. I'm pretty sure two near death experiences was enough to get us to talk... me especially, about what was bothering me so much.

Makes sense.

[he'll hold on if he wants to talk about it, taking the first drink.]

Well, probably not from a logical perspective. But you seem like an adrenaline junkie-- and it sounds like you've got a reckless streak. Something about almost dying makes all those drives probably seem real for a moment, huh?

[ chuckles. ] I am. I absolutely am. And that's true too. It just, yeah, it makes me feel more alive. [ she shrugs. ] Again, I bet that sounds dumb, at least to some people, but I'm not some or most people. I'm me and... [ another shrug. ] IDK.

[he takes a long drink.]

Nah, makes sense to me. In a place like this, gotta get your kicks somewhere, right? Sucks that it has to come from that, but better dying from your own stupidity than randomness.

[ she bumps shoulders with him. ]

And I love the adrenaline rush. It's soooo good. [ she shivers. ] But that's not the only way I get my rocks off~ [ a chuckle as she leans into him again. ] Now, c'mon, I told my tale...

You can be not stupid and still do stupid things.

[he glances over her, and then tilts his head slightly]

[ snorts. ]
