[he is very, very tired. He’s not even devouring the burger like normal.]

[Rolls his eyes.]

[After a brief pause, he adds, more softly,]

I was worried 'bout you. And I don't like sittin' around not doing anything about that.

[he sighs.]

Then enjoy your free burgers.

[fine. Watch him finish ur burger in peace.]

[He's not gonna WATCH you eat, lord. That's creepy.

But he'll just sit here and... chill, I guess. It's just reassuring to know Jason is eating. And not kicking him out yet.]

[he finishes and tosses the paper aside— flopping back again.]

[That doesn't faze him. Griffin gets up and wanders over to the bookshelves, letting Jason be alone for a bit.]

[He's gonna find that meditation and mindfulness book Jason was reading a while back.]

[it is there— actually, it’s not put away. It’s clear he’s read over it a few times.

In the meantime. He is just gonna pass out]

[He flips through it first, skirting through the chapters. Takes his time coming back, and by then, Jason's already passed out.

Mm. Okay, that's fine. Maybe it's better, even.

Griffin takes one of the burgers and shovels it in his mouth as he sits down in the cozy blankets by the fireplace, and starts to read.]

[look, eventually, he’s gonna start tossing and turning fitfully.

This is why he doesn’t usually sleep.]

[Griffin was starting to doze off too, but the sudden rustle of sheets stirs him. He pokes his head up to see Jason, in what must've been... another nightmare?

Concern spurs him up right away, and he goes to Jason's side, shaking him.]

Jason? Hey--!

[for his effort— Jason reaches up to punch him, instinctively, if he’s not careful.

His eyes snap open and he sits up.]

[Okay

he wasn't expecting that]

Grhk--!

[There Griffin goes. Knocked to the floor.

To be fair, Jason was owed one of those, probably.]

[he is just. Gonna stare. Like he’s still waking up.]

[Well he has a split lip and he's trying to stem the bleeding with the back of his hand.]

Wouldn’t be the first time you’ve slammed your face into my hand. Had to check.

[Grumble,] Last time I wake you up without a riot shield...

You can pay me back, if you’re that upset.

[he is going to shakily run a hand through his hair.]

[Hmph. Griffin sits up and just-- punches Jason in the shoulder. Not lightly, but not hard enough to really mean it either.]

[he does not even move. He recognizes that was a pulled punch >( weak.
