THE LOST DAYS... Round 2.

It's all darkness.

The feeling of nothingness, of being nothing. Of not existing. You have no thoughts, you will never have any thoughts again. While that fact is not comforting, because you cannot be comforted anymore, it is true.

There's a certain rest to being... nothing. And to both knowing and not knowing, that your time is done.

So it's all the more unfortunate when you feel, because you shouldn't feel. And the feeling is burning in your lungs, which you shouldn't have. Because you are- or were- nothing.

And then, you inhale a desperate gasp of air and open your eyes...

He sees one of those flowers tucked into the lapel of the Joker's jacket. Possibly the source...? You get the feeling, that might be the source.

But before you can react, the Joker breaks out into hysterical laughing, and suddenly the area entirely around him is coated in green gas.

Arya feels... unable to contain it. She just wants to laugh and smile in as wide and hysterical manner as she can manage. And what's funny? Is trying to take Rye apart piece by piece with her bare hands.

as soon as she hears Rye, it stops.

slowly she straightens back up, the wide, unnerving grin still plastered across her face. ]

[ and then she's leaping at him without restraint, making a wild grab for his throat. ]

And then he feels something hard and metal slam into his head with a delighted peel of laughter.

"Again, again!"

[ When she throws herself at him again, she's going for his legs to drag him to the ground.

An irritated voice cries out-- before shoving Arya and Rye into the pit.

And then, regardless of what they answer, they suddenly find themselves pushed, hard into the pit.

And then, Rye and Arya are not themselves. Because when they look around and feel Harpy's body slide off of the dagger that they are carrying, they do not feel the way they should. They don't even realize that they shouldn't feel that way. Instead, they feel aches in their muscles, fear and panic over a closed door, and then suddenly, a sharp, rending pain.

"Vroom, vroom," God's voice echoes behind them.

They turn to look as they collapse. They feel hatred, but also that teasing reminder of oblivion. That it can and will one day come to unmake them. And that it will not be pleasant next time, because oblivion is not kind to those who escape it.

And without realizing, they wake up screaming.
