Yesterday.

[he can see his notebook with the drawn diagrams and scribbled notes close-by.

He’s just going to flop back and rest his arm over his eyes.]

[He's not going to pick up the notebook, but he is going to read whatever's visible.]

[there are just a lot of hypothetical names of things. Wires. Electricity stuff. And lots of “???? New” for stuff he doesn’t recognize.]

[Huh.

He takes one burger, wrapped in paper, and goes over to hand it to Jason. Or put it within reach, if he doesn't want it right now.]

'Course they couldn't make it easy...

[he lifts his arm just slightly. And sighs, before taking the burger.]

More tired than hungry right now.

Couldn't hurt.

[I mean he still took the burger anyway, so. A small victory.

Griffin's just gonna... camp nearby, sitting on the floor next to the bed.]

[he considers it, before pushing himself up.

He is definitely the type of chaotic madman that would eat in bed.]

Fine.

[Of course you are.]

You look like you need a break anyway.

Isn’t that what I’m doing already?

[he says before he unwraps the top part of the burger. So he can eat.]

Told you, you didn’t have to do this.

Probably would’ve headed to the conbini.

[Huffs a small laugh and looks away, rubbing his nose as he does.]

But then I couldn't bribe you back into liking me with greasy food.

[He's joking. Mostly.]

... ‘Sat what this is about?

[he is very, very tired. He’s not even devouring the burger like normal.]

[Rolls his eyes.]

I'm joking.

[After a brief pause, he adds, more softly,]

I was worried 'bout you. And I don't like sittin' around not doing anything about that.

[he sighs.]

Right.

I’m fine.

Then enjoy your free burgers.

[fine. Watch him finish ur burger in peace.]

[He's not gonna WATCH you eat, lord. That's creepy.

But he'll just sit here and... chill, I guess. It's just reassuring to know Jason is eating. And not kicking him out yet.]

He is just a little depressed.]

[After like

a bunch of silence, he pipes up]

...Can I check out your library?

Probably nothing interesting to you.

[he finishes and tosses the paper aside— flopping back again.]

[That doesn't faze him. Griffin gets up and wanders over to the bookshelves, letting Jason be alone for a bit.]

[it is basically all knowledge and technical over there. So.

But Jason isn’t going to move.]

[He's gonna find that meditation and mindfulness book Jason was reading a while back.]

[it is there— actually, it’s not put away. It’s clear he’s read over it a few times.

In the meantime. He is just gonna pass out]

[He flips through it first, skirting through the chapters. Takes his time coming back, and by then, Jason's already passed out.

Mm. Okay, that's fine. Maybe it's better, even.

Griffin takes one of the burgers and shovels it in his mouth as he sits down in the cozy blankets by the fireplace, and starts to read.]

[look, eventually, he’s gonna start tossing and turning fitfully.

This is why he doesn’t usually sleep.]
