THE LOST DAYS... Round 2.

It's all darkness.

The feeling of nothingness, of being nothing. Of not existing. You have no thoughts, you will never have any thoughts again. While that fact is not comforting, because you cannot be comforted anymore, it is true.

There's a certain rest to being... nothing. And to both knowing and not knowing, that your time is done.

So it's all the more unfortunate when you feel, because you shouldn't feel. And the feeling is burning in your lungs, which you shouldn't have. Because you are- or were- nothing.

And then, you inhale a desperate gasp of air and open your eyes...

Hm. Well, why not, I suppose, although if this takes us back to the graveyard, I'm definitely not trusting internet search here, either.

Just General City Vibes.

As you move back, the scenery shifts again without you even realizing that it has shifted. You don’t exactly know where you are, except that it looks and feels sterilized. Overly clean. And yet, there’s that faint grunge that lets you know this place it tainted. As if on cue, you hear a manic giggling from around you, but it’s hard to pinpoint where it’s come from.

But strangely… you see a flower starting to bloom amongst the cracks of this place. It’s a lovely flash of yellow amongst the drab, sterile browns and whites of the hallways.

“Do you want to talk about it?”

As you look on, you can see a room, and the laughing seems to draw… closer? It sets your teeth on edge, the more you hear it.

Maybe Robin moved over there.

[OKAY, OFF BACK THE WAY WE CAME]

This is definitely not the graveyard.

...hm.

Well, I don't like that.

[ she does crouch down to take a look at that flower. it's a little unusual, isn't it? ]

[Well, that's]

[Creepy.]

[Still, the flower seems so out of place.] What is that? [He's going to go investigate the flower. Maybe poke it, flowers have done weird things before.]

Getting closer was... fine. It's a lovely yellow. Except the flower reaches towards you, wrapping around you tightly. You feel white hot burns everywhere it touches, and take one harm.

But more importantly, you feel rage. Anger and frustration run unbridled, and you want to make targets of everything you hate. And the flowers are not letting you go.

At the same time as when the flowers reach out to grab Hope, they reach out for you. But it's clear that Hope is their main target.

Their leaves lash you, and you start to feel an anger and a rage that is... mostly foreign to you. It magnifies every hurt and every piece of bitterness until it burns white hot, but the effort is easily shaken.

However, their grip on you is solid, and you take one harm before you can shake them off, the tell tale signs of blistering in their wake.

As you shake them off, though, you see the flowers who touched you curl up and whither.

[ I mean this is a great way to enter a feedback loop because you know what unnatural mental influence makes her feel?

god well for one thing these flowers are pissing her off, so she's going to pull the knife from her belt and hack them off at the stems. 2d6+tough-1=9 ]

she can't move, even though she has her staff attached to her belt-- ]

[MAN THAT IS REALLY FOREIGN, I usually don't feel anger without a Very Direct Target For It????]

[What is bitterness, does he have it? Maybe the smallest bits, that have been withered embers and its]

[Okay, maybe his dad should just listen to him more, huh!!!!]

[He steps back, shaking his head because it's weird when something is so foreign because his anger burns bright and fast and only so very temporarily, how does he even do anything with this-]

[Are there still...flowers present????]

[She is getting it, because he's back away from the flowers because rage is honestly just making him have daddy issues and confusion??????]

They wither away, but the burn marks they leave behind are pronounced, burning away even bits of her clothes and imprinting their stems, leaves, and flowers behind, leaving clear, ugly and weeping blisters in those shapes.

Take one harm.

There are! But they seem to almost... be shying away from you now?

[Well then]

[He is going to take a look around because one, the flowers look weird. Two, flowers have been weird in Recent Enough Memory to be suspicious.]

[He had a whole talk with a flower and the beginning of this was....familiar in a way.]

[He's looking around for anything that might look like a good tool to take out flowers without touching them. Maybe one of those fire extinguisher things or something.]

Well, he laughs.

And it happens so quickly-- she sees another figure. A kid. But he looks-- beaten within an inch of his life. Like all of the blood on that crowbar might actually be his, given how mangled his hands and face are.

"Get up!"

He knocks the other man away from her, and he laughs. But she will find that she can get up.

But the way she came is blocked by flowers.

Her only escape is to jump.

"Get out of here, he'll kill you! ... Again!"

Ta ma de—

[ she hisses, and keeps cursing under her breath. at the very least she can like, try and cut off the hem of her shirt to make a makeshift bandage. ]

There are fire extinguishers!

But he has to go through the flowers to get them. And he needs to make a split decision, because the flowers are starting to climb up the wall.

[Well, if the flowers are shying away from him-!]

[He's pulling out his knife and gonna go for it.]

Well.

It is a makeshift bandage. But it doesn't help anything.

But she hears from a room further on in the flowers path: "Do you want to talk about it?"

"No."

The second voice, she may vaguely recognize.

Well, he plotted his course well enough. He's able to reach the extinguisher relatively quickly.

And most importantly, without taking anymore damage.

[ ...huh.

well—she's going to just... follow the voice. like, curiosity cuts through how pissy she is about this whole thing a little. ]
