[To his credit, Griffin doesn't rush in like he always normally does. Instead he takes a loose stance and measures Jay as he advances, actually taking some of those hand to hand lessons to heart.
When he does make a move, it's a quick jab to the face with his right to cover for a step in to strike him hard in the gut with his left.]
[Spurred on, Griffin growls and hooks his arm against the one Jay used to block, grabbing it and twisting it backwards, twisting around Jay - like a standing armlock turned into a dance.]
[The sharp hit leaves him seeing stars and his head's knocked forward-- but he's not letting go of the hold he has on Jay's arm, not for that. Yanking that half of Jay's body down with him, he circles back up with his own momentum, throwing his legs over Jay's shoulders and around his neck.
With a poledancer's grace, his smaller frame swings over him and throws him into the ground with his thighs.]
[how many times are you going to try and shove your dick in his face, griffin
but hey, it shuts him up for like... 5 seconds?
but his palm shoots up and hits hard underneath griffin's chin, while his other arm shoots forward, between his legs, and then juts out out to create space while he's stunned.
that his punching hand can immediately take advantage of by grabbing his shirt and pulling him down, twisting to reverse their positions]
[Griffin's wrestled to the ground, underneath him. But while both of Jay's hands are too occupied to block him, he slams both his fists inward to box his ears.
Who needs Kydoimos Din when sending a shockwave through the ears is already enough to stun and dizzy. Not to mention the pain to the delicate inner ear.]
[fuck that hurt, and he instinctively leans back, rocking back to his feet, before griffin can grab his shirt, even if he is a little unsteady while he works through the shockwaves]
[Remember that part where Jay taught him to save the flashy moves for when he's already down or stunned? So it's easier to land them?
Maybe Jay will regret teaching him that
when Griffin grabs his lower legs together with both arms, pulling them out from under Jay while he's too dizzy to block him. Then, before he's able to get up, launches into a spinning kick that slams his boot down into Jay's solar plexus like an axe.]
[That smile sends shivers up his spine, and also? He's fought Jay enough to know he could've gotten up by now. Surely that deserved some punishment. After all, the fire in Griffin was still going, unsated yet.
He kneels over Jay's prone body and presses his boot into his chest, adding just enough force to make his ribs strain under the weight.]
What's that? I almost could've sworn you shut up for a second there.
[it hurts, but jay's eyes focus in on him, scanning for weaknesses. the grin never leaves his face. if anything, he just looks a little more excited, as his hand goes to griffin's boot, pushing up just lightly, taunting him with his next move.]
Me? Never.
Just needed to admire the teaching job I did.
[and then he grabs his pants with his other hand-- the push up to destabilize, and then using that break to pull him forward, off balance, leveraging griffin's body weight to pull himself up]
[Pulled forward, Griffin breaks away by tucking into roll to force some distance between them again, as Jay gets to his feet. He comes out in a smooth transition to get back on his feet, eyeing Jay for his next move.]
[Somehow the aggression in Griffin's blood was making him sharper, alight with ferocity. And now that Jay was being the brash one?
He turns to avoid the punch, stepping into Jay's space to jab an elbow to the gut, then grabbing his collar when he doubles over to try and throw him over his shoulder.]
[but it gives him a good chance to counter grab him, and some of his flexibility kicks in here, letting him land, albeit with a few stumbles, onto his feet, enough to swing him onto the the ground]
Aw, I look proud for a moment, and this is what I get?
[hey look, he's over him now, though he's not rushing in again]
[Griffin's thrown to the floor, but quickly recovers, spinning in a breakdance style sweep to get back up. Kind of a long shot that it'd hit Jay, but at least it'd keep him back (and his smug grin outta his face) while he got up.]
[The punch hits him squarely in the jaw - thank god Jay wasn't using this bullshit super strength right now, so at least that wasn't an instant fight ender.]
If you want kicks--
[His boot shoots out to kick Jay's leg out from under him. A quick stagger.]
no subject
[He clicks his tongue, frustrated]
But just havin' him around sets me off. Everything he says, I hear as condescending, even when it's not. Just-- something about old guys.
no subject
Not on the table?
[he sounds amused]
no subject
[Despite the warning of I'm still real hopped up on rage issues, Griffin's also smirking. He does want to.]
no subject
[he pushes himself up to his feet. He can tell.]
I’m pretty sure I can handle it. Better than your newbie anyway.

Avante's sending Intensity's kids through college with how many prosthetics we need, I'm pretty sure.
[Unable to restrain the anticipation on his face, Griffin rolls up his sleeves.]

[gonna step back from the edge]

I'd catch you. [
is this flirting][To his credit, Griffin doesn't rush in like he always normally does. Instead he takes a loose stance and measures Jay as he advances, actually taking some of those hand to hand lessons to heart.

IS this flirting?he does side step the punch to the face, but his arm goes to block the gut punch, stepping up just lightly as he diffuses the aggression.]
Try again.
[he's amused as he says it, encouraging]

IS THIS FLIRTING??][Spurred on, Griffin growls and hooks his arm against the one Jay used to block, grabbing it and twisting it backwards, twisting around Jay - like a standing armlock turned into a dance.]
Don't need you t'tell me that.

Little encouragement never hurt anyone.

There are so many comments I can make.

Probably.

he would normally rush to recover, far faster than he should. but for now, he's going to take a moment, to admire,]
Finally.

Wow. Didn't realize you were such a narcissist.

[he doesn't waste time, aiming his first punch square at griffin's chest, not caring too much on how he blocks. he just wants to fight.]
