THE LOST DAYS... Round 1.

It's all darkness.

The feeling of nothingness, of being nothing. Of not existing. You have no thoughts, you will never have any thoughts again. While that fact is not comforting, because you cannot be comforted anymore, it is true.

There's a certain rest to being... nothing. And to both knowing and not knowing, that your time is done.

So it's all the more unfortunate when you feel, because you shouldn't feel. And the feeling is burning in your lungs, which you shouldn't have. Because you are- or were- nothing.

And then, you inhale a desperate gasp of air and open your eyes...

Suddenly, though, you’re aware that you’re being watched. You can’t quite place it. And a quick glance around reveals nothing obvious? Hmm. But you can’t shake that feeling. Luckily, your next step reveals where it might be coming from. You hear something click, and look towards a set of shadows you’d written off before. But now, you can most definitely see a dull red glaring back at you, illuminating a figure.

He’s pointing his gun at you, and it’s hard to tell. But you get a definite sense that he’s pissed to see you. But that’s alright: his next words confirm it. “What the fuck are you doing here?”

That's a good question because I definitely don't know.

[ Talon's already lifted his hands enough to show they're empty—no way is he trusting whatever that click was. Hood might've caught a flash of relief on his face before Talon recognized how angry he is ]

Well, I was looking for him.

[he pauses as he looks at both of them, almost like he's listening to something, and slowly... pulls his gun back.]

It's your lucky day. Somehow, you're both cleared.

[he doesn't sound happy about it.]

What, we're not fighting?

[ Lowers his hands ]

I'm sure he'll be happy to oblige you if you prefer a fight, but I'd rather know what we were cleared for. Is there a known threat?

[the look he gives Shrike brooks in no uncertain terms,]

If you're not wanted here, you're not gonna be here.

[and then he looks at Talon]

For now, seems to be a thought that there's something you can help with that I can't handle. [there's a touch of cockiness in his voice. He's used to owning these streets, and it comes across in this moment.

but whoever told him to stand down? apparently is the one who calls the shots.]

Do you have any leads on it?

Yeah, I got leads.

[he finally approaches them. in the light of the street lamps you see-- strange scars? On his arms, but it's hard to tell what caused them. They're obscured by the cloth tied around his forearms and his sleeves.

But they seem faded and old, so who knows what his story is.]

Question is, you gonna stay together, or you gonna split up?

I suppose it depends on what seems more prudent? Talon, you do know your way around already, and I'm sure I can manage if there's many things that need doing...

If you are confident on your own, then I am not opposed to splitting up. I would prefer to solve this as quickly as possible, before any lasting damage can be done.
