THE LOST DAYS... Round 1.
It's all darkness.
The feeling of nothingness, of being nothing. Of not existing. You have no thoughts, you will never have any thoughts again. While that fact is not comforting, because you cannot be comforted anymore, it is true.
There's a certain rest to being... nothing. And to both knowing and not knowing, that your time is done.
So it's all the more unfortunate when you feel, because you shouldn't feel. And the feeling is burning in your lungs, which you shouldn't have. Because you are- or were- nothing.
And then, you inhale a desperate gasp of air and open your eyes...

Re: The Hotel
...should it be Red Hood?
[ oh i guess we're. we're fighting now ]
Re: The Hotel
[but he shifts slightly to avoid the brunt, and yet, the red is bleeding down his arm.
And yet, that despair is overwhelming from him.]
I'm not exactly Jason, but I think I should be.
Re: The Hotel
pull her rifle off her back instead :\ ]
He's already insufferable half the time, he doesn't need to be worse.
Re: The Hotel
I mean, he's probably actually mad at me?
Re: The Hotel
[he shrugs, and then pulls out his own gun.]
So, wanna fuck around and find out?
Re: The Hotel
[ swiftly raises her rifle to her shoulder and fires off a shot; 11 Tough ]
Re: The Hotel
but it's a heart, and he's a concept, he doesn't have to act like he's taking any damage?
so watch out, as he fires back. With 10 tough.]
Ouch.
Re: The Hotel
startled, sort of reflexively reaching for her sword, as one does, but not really able to shake it off— ]
Why are we doing this, just kill me if that gets it out of your system—
Re: The Hotel
and at a 4 tough that ain't doing anything.
She shoves Shrike in, further ahead of her, hastily trying to follow while keeping herself mostly in Jason's aim. ]
It's nothing like that! Just go!
Re: The Hotel
[ she sort of stumbles— ]
What are you going to do—?
[ but also, she's doing as she's told, because ha ha what's a willpower right now ]
Re: The Hotel
Jason starts to chase after them. firing once more At Cypress, and then moving to tackle her to the floor.]
Too bad.
[As he touches her, that deep, dark pit of self loathing tries to invade her mind again, that desperate need to validate her low opinion of herself--
but she's able to shake that off to the edges again]
Re: The Hotel
And with 10 Tough, she shoves the muzzle of her rifle up under his chin and attempts to pull the trigger. ]
Re: The Hotel
but it hurts enough to knock him off of her. and derail the attempted neck snapping he was about to do.
But he's back on his feet, bleeding profusely and laughing... insanely.
brokenly.]
Go ahead and kill me! Or try, I don't care.
Re: The Hotel
turns back toward them. quietly: ]
...ah.
This is the him that has a death wish.
Re: The Hotel
... what.
Re: The Hotel
[and then he points the gun at cypress, and pulling the trigger.]
Re: The Hotel
Re: The Hotel
[ why is everyone so trigger-happy.
actually she knows that. stupid question
depression be damned she is not letting this happen, she's going to try and just. knock him down and out of the way. ]
Re: The Hotel
but he is also out cold, and bleeding heavily. Though he seems to be rapidly healing? Like his wounds are going... somewhere else.]
Re: The Hotel
Stupid. Idiot, ridiculous, terrible, jackass, of course you say you're a jerk but I thought you were smarter than the kind of thing I'd pull. Coward.
[ it just. continues,
is she mad? she might be mad! ]
Cypress, how are your injuries.
Re: The Hotel
She doesn't answer for a long moment. ]
...
Fine.
Re: The Hotel
But—your response was good. He's stupid. I can try and dress some of those, before he wakes back up.
Re: The Hotel
... it-- reminded me of... something.
I don't know what.
Re: The Hotel
Re: The Hotel
... no. More like-- someone who isn't someone, I guess.
